How to Send Bitcoin from Blockstream Jade Plus
Share
This guide shows how to send bitcoin from a Blockstream Jade Plus to another wallet. You build the payment in the Blockstream app on your phone. Then you approve it on the Jade Plus by scanning QR codes. The phone sends the payment out after the device has signed it.
If the Jade Plus is not set up yet, start here: Jade Plus setup guide. Full review: Blockstream Jade Plus review. Buy: rewards.blockstream.com/nordic.
This page is for bitcoin. The Jade Plus can also work with Blockstream's Liquid network, but that is a separate setup and it does not use the QR method shown here. Stick to bitcoin for this guide.

Before you start
You need:
- A Jade Plus that is already set up and unlocked
- The official Blockstream app, already connected to the Jade Plus
- Some bitcoin already in that Jade wallet
- The wallet you want to send to, open on another phone or computer so you can copy its bitcoin address
Do a small test amount the first time, not your whole balance.
1. Copy the bitcoin address you want to pay
On the wallet that should receive the coins, look for Receive, Deposit, or a similar button. That screen shows the bitcoin address for that wallet. Many wallets also show the same address as a QR code.
That address is the destination. It is where your bitcoin will go.

Look at the start and the end of the address so you can recognize it in the next step.
2. Start a send in the Blockstream app
Open the Blockstream app and open the Jade Plus account. Tap Send.
Now put the destination address into the app. The easy way is to scan the QR code from the other wallet. You can also paste the address if you copied it.

If the address in the app does not match the one you just looked at, delete it and scan again.
3. Choose the amount
Enter how much bitcoin you want to send. The app will also show a network fee. That fee goes to bitcoin miners so the payment can be included in a block. It is not a Blockstream fee.
Tap Next, then Sign transaction.

Unlock the Jade Plus if it is locked. In the video the device was already unlocked.
4. Scan the payment QR with the Jade Plus
The app now shows a QR code with the unsigned payment. On the Jade Plus, choose Scan QR and point the camera at that code. Keep it there until the device has read it.

If the scan does not catch, move the device a little closer or farther and try again.
5. Check the details on the Jade Plus, then approve
The Jade Plus screen shows where the bitcoin will go and how much will leave. Read both. Compare the address with the one on the other wallet.
If it looks right, approve it on the device. If it does not, cancel.

After you approve, the Jade Plus shows its own QR code. That code is the signed payment.
6. Scan the Jade Plus QR with your phone
Go back to the Blockstream app and tap Next. Point the phone camera at the QR code on the Jade Plus. When the app has read it, it sends the payment to the bitcoin network.

7. Wait for it to confirm
The app should show that the send worked, or that it is waiting for confirmation. Bitcoin payments are not final the second they leave. They need confirmations on the network first. That can take a little while depending on the fee you chose.

If something looks wrong
Stop and cancel on the Jade Plus if the address or amount on the device is not what you typed. A payment you approve cannot be pulled back.
Use a small test send the first time you pay a new address.
Quick checklist
- Jade Plus is unlocked
- I copied the receive address from the wallet I want to pay
- That same address is in the Blockstream send screen
- Amount and fee look right
- Jade Plus scanned the QR from the app
- Address and amount on the Jade Plus were correct
- Phone scanned the QR from the Jade Plus
- The app shows the payment, and I am waiting for confirmations
