DIMO devices collect data for DIMO’s vehicle data ecosystem platform, where vehicle information is stored and easily accessed. This has countless applications, such as aiding mechanics or researching a new car purchase. Users can insert a DIMO device into their vehicle and earn DIMO token rewards for providing data.

Two Different DIMO Devices

The DIMO LTE R1 is the latest device, compatible with most vehicles, provides the most data, and offers the best token reward opportunity. The DIMO Macaron is cheaper but supports fewer vehicles, collects less data, and has lower token reward potential.

Difference Between DIMO Macaron and LTE R1 Earnings

The DIMO LTE R1 starts with more points each week—6000 compared to the Macaron’s 2000—used to calculate weekly DIMO token rewards.

How DIMO Rewards Work

Users providing the most data earn the most DIMO tokens, so those driving frequently and contributing more data earn higher rewards. Weekly points determine token earnings, based on factors like:

• Which DIMO device is used.
• Maintaining a "driving streak" by driving every week.

DIMO Driving Streak

Using the DIMO device weekly increases a streak, boosting weekly points. At the maximum streak, the Macaron earns 5000 points per week, while the LTE R1 earns 9000 points per week.

This DIMO Device Earns More

Since the LTE R1 starts with higher weekly points and reaches a greater maximum due to the streak, it earns more DIMO tokens than the Macaron.
